Hillsdale is a family run B and B situated in a quiet location in the heart of Ambleside. All rooms are en-suite with shower and our bedrooms are clean and stylish.We offer a warm and friendly stay. We serve a hearty English or vegetarian breakfast.We also have grapefruit segments, prunes, raisins, cranberries, yoghurt, fruit juice and cereals. Restaurants, shops and pubs are a minute’s walk away. All rooms have flat screen LCD TV's. For that special break, we have a large bay fronted room with king size bed. Situated in the heart of Ambleside, Norwood House is a family run guest house, surrounded by dramatic scenery and just a short walk from the shores of Lake Windermere. Also, we have a superior bay-windowed room with luxurious king-sized bed available to add a little extra something to the occasion! Full English and vegetarian breakfasts, using only top quality local produce, are served in our comfortable dining room to set you up for a day's activities -sightseeing, walking or cycling. Maps, books and advice proffered as to possible walks or suggestions for nearby fine restaurants. There are 8 rooms of varying sizes to accommodate all types of family groups. Elegantly decorated and spacious rooms with views to the local hills. All rooms have colour TV, hair-dryers, alarm clocks, boot trays, fresh towels, complimentary toiletries, refreshment trays, complete with tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits, as standard. Complimentary flask refills are available, as is a drying room for damp clothing. Packed lunches available on request. Secure storage is avaialble for cycles. Hard-standing available for motorbikes. Price includes a hearty Cumbrian breakfast, or veggie alternative and the use of passes for the nearby Low Wood leisure facilities, during your stay. A warm welcome awaits you at The Anchorage, our conveniently situated guest house, just two minutes' level walk from Ambleside village centre. Each of our centrally heated double rooms is tastfully decorated and comfortably furnished, with lovely view of the fells and surrounding countryside. All our rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers, colour TV and radio alarm clocks, and all are en-suite. Drying facilities available. We also have our own car park which can accomodate all guest cars. Open Christmas and New Year. As weekends are very busy we mainly do two night stays, but do ring or e-mail to check if we have availability. Our prices start at £26.00 per person for our small en-suite and up to £35 per person for our superior rooms

Holding a secluded position on the lower slopes of Butter Crag, a short stroll down the sweeping private driveway from the hotel itself, lies Grasmere village. This elegant Victorian stately home built by the Earl of Lonsdale, is surrounded by 40 acres of private wooded grounds including private car park, fields, forests, and magnificent views to Helm Crag, Silver How and Loughrigg Terrace. The grounds have wild deer, red squirrels and a badger set. Forest Side has 33 Bedrooms, which include Four Posters, Superior, Satandard and Basic rooms.
