A small but very friendly family run hotel in the centre of Ambleside. Private car park, complimentary use of a local leisure club, with swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi etc. Good breakfast selction including fruit, cereals, yoghurt, and vegetarian selection, and all the normal hot breakfast choices, cooked and served by Anthony & Christine. Close to the bus routes, convenient for walking, cycling, fishing and generally enjoying the beauty of the Lake District. Ideally located just a stones throw ( well, ok ,a 5 minute stroll!) from the shores of Lake Windermere and the bustling village of Bowness with lots of things to see and do.It's easy to get about without a car for a day or two, or saunter to a local restaurant (and stagger back again)- lots to choose from! Ample and safe parking for up to 6 cars in the concealed private drive. Delicious breakfasts with lots of choice,from traditional english to aga pancakes - inc warm homemade bread.... We can accommodate a maximum of 6 guests in 3 bedrooms - all are ensuite - huge and heavenly beds, lovely linen, tv dvd etc. A third twin bedroom adjoins one of the doubles and makes a great "family and friends" hideaway.We welcome children over 10. Lowfell is totally non smoking - however, we don't in the least mind puffers in the bushes.
