Self catering in the Lake District

Quaysiders Club is a self catering resort situated in a beautiful part of the Lake District opposite Lake Windermere and close to Ambleside town centre (12 minutes walk). We have 18 x sleep 6, high quality apartments available for hire by the week and a small number of very nice double and triple hotel style bedrooms available for nightly rentals. All our apartments are identical and include a full Kitchen (dishwasher, fridge/freezer,oven,microwave, four ring hob unit etc), dining room adjoining the lounge (two double seater settees one of which is a double bed settee, TV, DVD, HiFi and telephone), two bedrooms (one with double bed, TV and a vanity unit and the other with twin beds) and a nice size bathroom (bath, shower, hand basin and toilet). During April to October each apt has its own pattio chairs and table and barbecues are available in the courtyard. Our apartments are refurbished to a high standard and the resort has been a Gold Crown (top award) resort with RCI (the largest timeshare exchange company in the world) for nine years. We have a small leisure centre on site which contains a small indoor swimming pool, a sauna and jacuzzi. We have one designated car parking space per apartment/room. A warm and comfortable house, Orange Hill Cottage is ideal for couples and small families, offering accommodation for up to four people with great views of the Lakeland fells. The cottage is situated in the hamlet of Boot which nestles in the Eskdale valley, one of the more tranquil valleys of the Lake District. The Boot Inn and Brook House Inn are both nearby and offer fine ales and good food. There are hundreds of walks right from the front door. The accommodation comprises of sitting room, fully equipped kitchen with dining area, one double, one twin, bathroom and enclosed patio.

Ellwood House is a splendid stone built self-catering holiday cottage on the edge of Caldbeck village in the Northern Fells of the Lake District National Park. Located in an elevated position, with views of the open Caldbeck Fells from the rear of the house. High Pike can be seen immediately due south of the cottage in the picturesque expanse known colloquially as 'back o'Skiddaw'. Just 100 yards across the field below you will find Gill Beck which runs through the village with a footpath just behind. Dating back to the 18th century, Ellwood House has retained much of its "olde worlde" charm but with every modern day convenience. With bedrooms upstairs for up to six people with plenty of space, a great house bathroom (recently upgraded), open fire and a quiet secluded rear garden with an adjoining barn providing ample secure storage for mountain bikes, etc.

Recently used for the filming of ‘Miss Potter’, a film about Beatrix Potter starring Renee Zellweger, Low Millgillhead is an elegant Georgian house in the small village of Lamplugh. Extensively and sympathetically refurbished in 2007, it provides luxurious self-catering accommodation for groups of up to 10 people. It is set in half an acre of beautiful gardens, with space for summer barbecues and a stream. Lamplugh is the perfect starting place to explore the fells, rivers, lakes and tarns of this beautiful part of the Lake District. There are a variety of walks from the front door, or Loweswater Lake is just four miles away, with Buttermere and Crummock just a mile or two beyond. In the opposite direction is Ennerdale, with its lake, forest walks, mountain biking, rock climbing, fishing, pony trekking and paragliding. The village pub (the Lamplugh Tip) is a mile and a half away.
