This substantially built cottage provides spacious accommodation for up to 8 people. It stands handsomely in a small row of elevated properties on the outskirts of Bowness-on-Windermere with some lake views of Windermere. A fifteen minute stroll will take you into the heart of the village. The cottage is thoughtfully furnished and very well equipped. An Aga is available for use between the months of October to April. Leisure club facilities available included in price. If you yearn for space, comfort and a peaceful yet handy setting with panoramic views then this is the one for you. Undermillbeck is the family holiday home of Michael and Hilary Jacobs. It is set in the heart of Windermere village in a quiet, friendly street in easy reach of transport, shops, pubs and restaurants. A short stroll brings you to an unspoilt spot by the lake at Miller Ground or to Orrest Head and the superb panorama of Lake Windermere. The rooms have Hilary's landscape paintings of the Lakes on the walls. You will find the house warm, comfortable, spacious and attractive. Sleeps up to 8 people and has two bathrooms. The house has a well-equipped kitchen which includes a fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer, and in the living room a tv with sky freesat, video,CD player and DVD. Central heating. Fisherground Farmhouse offers self catering accommodation for up to 16 people. Situated in Eskdale, one of the most tranquil valleys in the Lake District, the farmhouse commands superb views of the surrounding fells and mountains. The garden is spacious and faces South, getting the best of the sunshine. There are hundreds of walks right from the front door – either along the valley bottom following the River Esk or up the fells (including Scafell Pike – the highest mountain in England). The Farmhouse has four double bedrooms, three twins and a set of bunks. There are three bathrooms. Downstairs there is a spacious, fully equipped kitchen, a separate dining room with a large dining table to seat 16 and a sitting room with open fire. There is also a conservatory.

Irton Hall is a stunning holiday location with impressive history, set in the foothills of the Western fells of the Lake District between Wasdale and Eskdale. Parts of the magnificent Hall, such as the Pele Tower, date from the 14th century. Broughton House forms the west wing of Irton Hall, where spacious elegant rooms, chandeliers and a grand staircase with stained glass windows make this a dream holiday venue. Copeland is the centre section of the Hall, next to the original Pele Tower, and what was once an 18th century ballroom is now the very spacious lounge/dining room. The marble floors, tall ceilings and chandeliers create an opulent holiday environment. Both Oliver Cromwell and Henry VI visited the Hall, although it is reputed that Henry VI was refused entry and spent the night under the 1000 year old oak tree in front of the house, known as ‘The King’s Oak’.

The last house but one before the road runs out at Wasdale Head, Middle Row Cottage is a detached farmhouse surrounded by the majestic Wasdale mountains. Recently refurbished, Middle Row Cottage offers comfortable and spacious accommodation for up to six people. Kitchen, dining room and sitting room with open fire. There are three bedrooms and one bathroom. Garden with garden furniture. The Wasdale Head Inn is a minute’s walk away. There are hundreds of walks right from the front door – either along the valley floor or up the Wasdale fells including Scafell and Great Gable.
