Self catering in the Lake District

Quaysiders Club is a self catering resort situated in a beautiful part of the Lake District opposite Lake Windermere and close to Ambleside town centre (12 minutes walk). We have 18 x sleep 6, high quality apartments available for hire by the week and a small number of very nice double and triple hotel style bedrooms available for nightly rentals. All our apartments are identical and include a full Kitchen (dishwasher, fridge/freezer,oven,microwave, four ring hob unit etc), dining room adjoining the lounge (two double seater settees one of which is a double bed settee, TV, DVD, HiFi and telephone), two bedrooms (one with double bed, TV and a vanity unit and the other with twin beds) and a nice size bathroom (bath, shower, hand basin and toilet). During April to October each apt has its own pattio chairs and table and barbecues are available in the courtyard. Our apartments are refurbished to a high standard and the resort has been a Gold Crown (top award) resort with RCI (the largest timeshare exchange company in the world) for nine years. We have a small leisure centre on site which contains a small indoor swimming pool, a sauna and jacuzzi. We have one designated car parking space per apartment/room. Undermillbeck is the family holiday home of Michael and Hilary Jacobs. It is set in the heart of Windermere village in a quiet, friendly street in easy reach of transport, shops, pubs and restaurants. A short stroll brings you to an unspoilt spot by the lake at Miller Ground or to Orrest Head and the superb panorama of Lake Windermere. The rooms have Hilary's landscape paintings of the Lakes on the walls. You will find the house warm, comfortable, spacious and attractive. Sleeps up to 8 people and has two bathrooms. In the pretty village of Yanwath, Gate Cottage offers stylish self catering accommodation for up to four people. Yanwath is an ideal starting point for exploring the Lake District and Eden Valley. The cottage is just three miles from the M6 and its nearest lake is Ullswater (4 miles) – a lake of sublime natural beauty against a backdrop of breathtaking mountain scenery. The cottage features bespoke kitchen, contemporary bathroom and spacious and comfortable bedrooms and living room. For catering in the cottage, Penrith and neighbouring villages offer farmers markets, farm shops and the award winning, Cranstons. For guests who prefer the more hands off approach, simply come downstairs to the Yanwath Gate Inn - "Cumbrian Dining Pub of the Year" (The Good Pub Guide 2007 & 2009) where you will find a warm welcome, relaxed atmosphere and superb food.

Wayside is situated in the Borrowdale Valley, at the Southern end of Derwent Water on the deservedly popular bridle path to Castle Crag, and Rosthwaite and Seatoller beyond. It has stunning views West to Maiden Moor, and East, to Grange Fell. This delightful cottage sleeps four, having one double room, and a twin. It has many original features including beams and flag stone flooring, and also a multi-fuel stove in the sitting room. For warm evenings there's a garden. For warm days, a river to swim or paddle in within a two minute stroll. There are two cafes in Grange village, and if it's a drink you're after, the Leathes Head Hotel is happy to serve non residents and is about a four minute stroll. The closest town, Keswick is four miles distant, and there are plenty of good restaurants, as well as tourist attractions there, and closer to 'home'.

Situated within walking distance of Cockermouth, High Moor Cottage offers comfortable and stylish accommodation for couples and small families. Cockermouth is a great starting point to explore the Lake District being within easy access of the quieter, western side yet having all the comforts and ease of the services Cockermouth has to offer with its supermarket, butcher, baker, cafes, pubs, restaurants and cinema. Loweswater Lake is High Moor's nearest lake with lovely woodland walks and a tranquil escape from day to day living. For the more energetic, Skiddaw is one of the highest mountains in the Lake District and is a fifteen minute drive away. Or Keswick is twenty minutes away with its busy centre and Derwentwater Lake which has rowing boats, self drive motor boats and the launch.
