Hillsdale is a family run B and B situated in a quiet location in the heart of Ambleside. All rooms are en-suite with shower and our bedrooms are clean and stylish.We offer a warm and friendly stay. We serve a hearty English or vegetarian breakfast.We also have grapefruit segments, prunes, fruit surprise mix, yoghurt, fruit juice and cereals. Restaurants, shops and pubs are a minute’s walk away. All rooms have flat screen LCD TV's. For that special break, we have a large bay fronted room with king size bed. We have a parking space for each room. The spaces are about 350 metres away and are off road. We offer complimentary wi-fi. Please check our website to view prices and availability. Brathay Lodge, Ambleside, is a traditional English Lake District B and B which was originally built as two semi detached properties around 1890 probably to satisfy the demand for guest, BandB and hotel accommodation by the Lake District tourist industry which was then in its infancy. The property is of a contemporary style B and B. The brief to the interior design team was to create an informal atmosphere conducive to unwinding with high class guest accommodation to a high quality hotel B and B standard. Situated towards central Ambleside, Lake District, Brathay Lodge is within a few minutes' walk of over 30 eateries offering a wide range of cuisine. There are also numerous gourmet restaurants and inns within a short drive of Ambleside - something for all tastes and all budgets. For that reason we have decided to specialise in deluxe guest accommodation on a B and B (continental buffet breakfast) basis only. Most of our guests visiting Ambleside on a short break or as part of an even longer Lake District vacation tend to leave their cars on our large private off-road car park for the duration of their stay, preferring to take advantage of our proximity and enjoy the many local walks during the day and the restaurants and bars of the evening. Walkers mountain bikers golfers etc, both casual and serious, like Brathay Lodge's informality and enjoy the facilities on offer (free internet wi-fi access).
This delightful 18 bedroomed, non-smoking Bed and Breakfast is perfectly located within Ambleside between the shops and lake Windermere - just a short stroll to either. Plenty of private parking. Breakfast is served between 8.30 and 9.30am from an extensive menu of locally sourced products and home baked goods. An extensive bar is open all day also serving cappuccinos, espresso etc and light snacks. The hotel currently has an egg cup breakfast award and 4 Star Gold Award from Visit Britain. Individually decorated bedrooms, all en-suite and equipped to a high standard, some with spa baths, balconies or separate walk in showers. Front facing rooms have super views of Loughrigg and surrounding fells. Large garden with seating area. Leisure facilities and use of a fishing licence are available to our guests. Children are welcome if sharing one of our family rooms with parents. Sorry no pets. Special out of season breaks offer remarkable value. 2 night minimum stay over a weekend. 1 night subject to availability. 3 night minimum stay over Bank Holidays. 4 night minimum stay over Easter.
