The hotel is located within walking distance of Barrow's town centre, all local businesses are very accessible from this very homely accommodation. The lake district is only a 20 minute drive from Barrow-in-Furness, and in and around the Barrow area there are lots of interesting places to visit which include Furness Abbey, Piel Island and Castle, the birthplace of George Romney, Foulney Island bird sanctuary, the award winning Dock Museum and Dalton Wild Animal Park is a mere 10 minutes drive from the Ambrose Hotel.Wi-Fi internet access is available free of charge throughout the hotel.

***Opened on 22nd September 2007*** The Duke of Edinburgh Hotel has been re-designed, re-built and re-invented over a twelve month period to create a beautifully styled, boutique hotel. Offering 18 en-suite, contemporary rooms with double and twin beds, this hotel takes accommodation levels to a new height in Barrow. Each room includes designer bathrooms, twin or super king size double beds, flat screen digital televisions, bespoke art work and luxury fittings. This is not a typical B&B establishment but a contemporary inn designed to offer exceptional comfort at a reasonable price. All prices include full a la carte breakfast offering a choice of eggs, varieties of bacon and style of sausage - all our breakfasts are individually prepared and cooked to order. We accept all credit/debit cards including American Express. Please be aware that due to the architectural constraints of this listed building we do not have a lift, however staff will be more than happy to assist our guests with their luggage.
