Built in 1688 and situated beneath Blencathra, with stunning views looking over towards the Helvellyn Range, this traditional Lakeland Inn offers a warm Cumbrian Welcome to all its customers. Mellow Lakeland stone, traditional architecture and such a peaceful setting make the Horse & Farrier a perfect place to enjoy a quiet pint, delicious food or a short break "away from it all". Our restaurant is well known locally for the quality and imagination of its food and our bar serves some of the best Jennings real ales in the Lake District. One of two cottages located quietly by the village stream, High Bridge sleeps six and offers high quality, comfortable accommodation, with great views of the fells from the upstairs main room. Forget the car, you can walk from the doorstep for weeks on end! In addition the northern Lake District offers plenty of attractions for those who just wish to relax or enjoy themselves in stimulating surroundings. Braithwaite is a friendly village, with three pubs and two shops, and Keswick is only 3 miles away. The cottage is dog-friendly and non-smoking. The Hollies guesthouse is situated in the centre of Threlkeld Village, nr Keswick in the English Lake District National Park. Built of local stone, and dating back to 1900, this imposing property enjoys an elevated position, with magnificent views of the surrounding fells. There is ample off-road parking, as well as facilities for both walkers and cyclists (including a drying room). This splendid property has been carefully refurbished by husband and wife team, John and Margaret Fleet, who have been in the hotel and catering business for over 30 years.
