Holly-Wood is a charming, quietly situated family owned Guest House ideally positioned just a few minutes walk from Windermere Village centre in the heart of the Lake District. Bowness-on-Windermere, with its boat rides and numerous specialist arts and craft shops, restaurants, cafes and inns is a short stroll down the hill. The house is a beautiful late Victorian villa built 1897 and still retains some original features, a family run guest house offering stylish and secluded accommodation, with friendly service and a warm welcome. The M6 motorway is just 16 miles away and the main London Glasgow railway line has a stop off at Kendal Oxenholme station where you can catch the local connection to Windermere station.Strictly non-smoking through-out, we are sorry we are unable to accommodate pets. We welcome children from 10 years old. Holly-Wood has it's own small car park at the rear of the property. Guests will love our hearty breakfasts, both traditional and vegetarian, which are served in our spacious dining room between 8.30am and 9.30am. When booking a 25% deposit will be taken which is non-fundable, please see cancellation policy. We would be grateful if an arrival time accompanied all bookings. Rooms will be ready for occupation from 2.00 pm. on the day of arrival and will be required to be vacated by 10.00 am. on the morning of departure.

Where Country House Hotel meets Boutique Hotel ....our magnificent country house hotel & restaurant ,is still very traditional but has a slight hint of boutique luxury....we are situated in 7 acres of magnificent grounds in troutbeck valley . We combine warm luxurious surroundings, fine dining & a service that is second to none. We have fourteen individually designed bedrooms , with modern jacuzzi, spa, whirlpool & sunken baths. The Willowsmere was built around 1860 as an imposing Lakeland family residence, it has been tastefully restored and renovated to a high standard and includes the luxuries that you would expect if staying in a fine English hotel. The guesthouse has 13 en suite bedrooms all recently refurbished including new luxury pocket sprung beds and those little extras that make your stay a pleasant and relaxing one. There are 2 lounges for guests use and a large landscaped secluded garden where you can enjoy a drink from the well-stocked cellar. The Willowsmere has a large off road car park and is centrally located; 8 minutes walk from Windermere centre and train station and 5 minutes walk from the tranquil shores of Lake Windermere. We are exclusively non-smoking and regretfully cannot accommodate children under 12.PLEASE NOTE OUR RECEPTION CLOSES AT 8PM

Checkout 10.00am---- Later checkout no later than 12pm is available but this incurrs a £20 surcharge. Prior arrangement is needed.A minimum of 2 nights at weekends and a minimum of 3 nights on bank holidays.Free leisure facilities are a short distance away at a local country club. It has a swimming pool sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, badminton, small gym, tanning, snooker tables, bar, and pool table (fee applies for pool table). Towel hire fron the Country Club is aprox £1 per towel .
