Our beautiful country house was built in 1899 as the six-bedroomed retreat of a Victorian Gentleman. Nestling in almost three acres of natural secluded gardens, in the heart of the English Lake District at Bowness on Windermere, it enjoys a truly superb elevated location.
The Hotel was founded in 1971 and has already celebrated its Silver Jubilee under the same family ownership.

The Craig Manor Hotel nestles on the brow of a hill overlooking Lake Windermere, Langdale Pikes and surrounding mountains in the English Lake District. Just a 100 yard stroll from the front door is the village of Bowness with its pubs, shops, cafes and museum. Guests can walk to the lake shore and maybe take a cruise to nearby Ambleside. The Angel Inn is the perfect base for your holiday, set in an ideal location in Bowness on Windermere, amongst gardens and grounds with views of the high Lakeland fells and only a few minutes walk from the lake, shops and other attractions. Built in 1802, the inn has recently been refurbished to offer comfortable and stylish surroundings without losing the feeling of a true Lakeland retreat.

Holding a secluded position on the lower slopes of Butter Crag, a short stroll down the sweeping private driveway from the hotel itself, lies Grasmere village. This elegant Victorian stately home built by the Earl of Lonsdale, is surrounded by 40 acres of private wooded grounds including private car park, fields, forests, and magnificent views to Helm Crag, Silver How and Loughrigg Terrace. The grounds have wild deer, red squirrels and a badger set. Forest Side has 33 Bedrooms, which include Four Posters, Superior, Satandard and Basic rooms.
