However its fame these days has much more to do with the warmest of welcomes and standard of service complemented by our new, individually designed rooms, and the new Grill and Smokehouse and open kitchen offering more theatre to the overall dining experience. Head Chef Marc Sanders will proudly continue his commitment to the best locally produced seasonal ingredients. Dent is renowned as one of the quaintest and prettiest villages in the Yorkshire Dales.Situated in idyllic countryside within easy reach of the Lake District and the West Coast, Dent provides the perfect holiday base.The George and Dragon is a grade 2 listed building situated in the centre of Dent Village overlooking the famous Adam Sedgwick Memorial Fountain.The Main Bar area hosts a 42 Plasma Screen TV, Screening Live Sporting Events and Pool Room with Gambling Machine and Dart BoardTraditionally furnished with relaxed public rooms the George and Dragon has two spacious dining areas serving home cooked meals daily 12 noon to 8.30 pm. The Queen's Head is an historic 17th Century Coaching Inn, situated in the Troutbeck Valley, just 3 miles from Windermere. Throughout the inn are solid oak beams, stone flag floors and heart-warming log fires by which you can enjoy a deserved drink, ordered from the bar which was once an Elizabethan four poster bed from a room in Appleby Castle. Hotel guests home comforts are very much of this century. The bedrooms are all non-smoking and are tastefully furnished fully en-suite with bath and shower, as well as toiletries, flat screen TV with Freesat digital TV and radio package and tea and coffee making facilities accompanied with our own homemade shortbread.
